Parts of us shed like an old dog after a long winter causing us undo irritation. We have lost a part of our self like a door that no longer has a handle. Are we still who we were? Every aspect of us undergoes shift, leaving us feeling very singular and out of sorts. Like a weather weary hummingbird we have lost direction, and seek to rest, picking up the feathers of self that were plucked along the way. Do we hold on to who we once were or just let go? Although soul loss is a survival mechanism the soul aspect that left usually does not come back on its own. The soul aspect might be lost, or stolen by another, or doesn’t know the trauma has passed and it is safe to return. It has always been the role of the shaman to go into an altered state of consciousness, track down where the soul fled to in the alternate realities, and return it to the body. this can be done in ceremony with sage, prayers, deep-breathing and powerful healing mantras.
There are many common symptoms of soul loss. Some of the more common ones would be dissociation, where a person does not feel fully in their body and fully engaged in life like they are walking around like a zombie. Other symptoms include depression, suicidal tendencies, post-traumatic stress, immune deficiency problems, and grief that does not heal. Addictions are also a sign of soul loss. We seek external sources to fill up the empty spaces inside of us through substances, smoke, drugs, food, relationships, work, or the need to buy material objects. Anytime someone says I have never been the same since a certain event; soul loss has probably occurred. Often our soul loss happened so young we are unaware of our first experience of soul loss.
Some other symptoms that would indicate soul loss include: a feeling of incompleteness, an inability to move forward on some issue, lost memories, feeling like you’re not in control of your life. Soul loss is often accompanied by a feeling that something is missing. Soul Retrieval unleashes hidden treasures of the Soul that have been locked away.
