The Dogon tribe stories speak about Visitors from the Stars. They explain that a race of people from the Sirius Star system called Nommos visited Earth thousands of years ago. The Nommos were amphibious beings that resembled mermen and mermaids (not the cute kind). The teachings and wisdoms of the Nommos also appeared in Babylonian, Accadian, and Sumerian myths. The Nommos, according to the Dogon legend, lived on a planet that orbits another star in the Sirius system.
